Corporate Giving and Sponsorship

Corporate Giving

Corporate Giving is when a company makes a pure charitable contribution to ISSH Inc that supports our educational and legal-literacy mission without expecting substantial commercial benefit in return. Because ISSH operates as a U.S. nonprofit under § 501(c)(3), gifts made by corporations (and individuals) can be tax-deductible — provided the contribution is to a “qualified organization” as defined by the IRS.

When your company engages in Corporate Giving to ISSH Inc, you:

  • May deduct the gift as a charitable contribution (subject to applicable limitations for corporations).
  • Receive official acknowledgment of your contribution for tax-deduction purposes.
  • Do not receive substantial promotional benefits in return (if you did, the payment might shift classification).
  • May deduct the gift as a charitable contribution (subject to applicable limitations for corporations).

Corporate Sponsorship

Corporate Sponsorship is when a company provides financial or in-kind support to ISSH Inc in exchange for recognition, such as logo placement, event naming rights, or other promotional benefits. It is distinct from a pure donation in that the sponsor expects a business benefit (even if modest).

For ISSH Inc, opting for sponsorship means your company gains visibility and alignment with our mission while supporting our programs. In turn, we ensure acknowledgment is handled in compliance with IRS criteria so your support is properly structured.

How You Can Participate

1. Corporate Giving

  • Decide on a contribution amount — cash, in-kind, or gift of property — to ISSH Inc.
  • We provide you with an acknowledgment letter that you can use for tax records.
  • No expectation of commercial promotion (beyond standard thanks and listing) to preserve the deduction status.
  • Your gift supports our journal, multilingual legal education platform, translations and outreach.

2. Corporate Sponsorship

  • Choose a sponsorship opportunity (e.g., event, mini-course series, journal issue) linked to our mission.
  • Determine the level of recognition desired (logo inclusion, naming rights, banner, etc.).
  • We structure the agreement so the recognition is in line with “acknowledgment” rather than advertising — thereby protecting tax treatment.
  • The company receives the promotional benefit agreed, seats in events or program access as applicable.

Why It Matters

  • For companies in the U.S., properly structured giving or sponsorship supports your corporate social responsibility goals while aligning with tax-law rules.
  • For ISSH Inc, both giving and sponsorship provide essential funding to scale our international legal-education impact.
  • By partnering with companies through clear frameworks, we uphold transparency, compliance and mission-alignment.
